The Matter at High
Pressure (MALTA)
initiative
has born to address frontier questions related to high
pressure research and technology. |

The educative
program of
MALTA
will involve young scientists at
all levels of their careers. Although MALTA will establish a
vigorous post-doc programme, much of the proposed research will be
addressed through doctoral students. For this reason,
interdisciplinary advisory panels, composed of three to four members
of the MALTA team, with the guidance of an Education and
Training Committee, will be put in place to guide individual
doctoral studies.
The doctoral
research will be complemented by a special interdisciplinary
educational and training programme. Advanced courses and seminars as
well as lectures will be offered by senior scientists who are well-known
experts in the field. Doctoral students will be encouraged to
participate in advanced scientific training opportunities, such as
international and interdisciplinary summer schools and scientific
workshops, some of them organised by
MALTA,
and to present their research at international scientific
conferences and meetings. It is also planned to implement an
exchange program with international institutions that will allow the
students to spend a limited amount of their time in an
internationally recognised research group abroad.
