No description of high pressure science would be complete without mentioning the role that technology plays in our research. High pressure is a field that by its very nature requires inventing new tools and has distinguished itself through technological innovation.

In this regard, several MALTA researchers have a long-standing reputation in designing and optimizing different high pressure devices, from diamond anvil cells to large industrial autoclaves. However, the accomplishment of the challenges proposed here, because of their interdisciplinary nature, requires the MALTA team to follow-up with new technical advances. Our major technological goals projected within a middle-term scope are:

V.   Development of new optically active materials as pressure and temperature sensors
VI.  Design of a novel laser heating system for diamond anvil cells
VII. Implementation of diagnostic devices in high pressure industrial equipments
